Brand Name : Careprost

Generic Name: Bimatoprost Ophthalmic |

Manufacturer : Sun Pharma

About Careprost:

Careprost Eye Drops contains Bimatoprost. Careprost Eye Drops treats hypotrichosis (short eyelashes). It increases the length, thickness and color of eyelashes. Bimatoprost is also a treatment for glaucoma.

How to use Careprost

Careprost (Bimatoprost Ophthalmic) is used to grow eyelashes. The active ingredient, Bimatoprost Ophthalmic, achieves this by increasing the density, thickness, and length of the eyelashes.

Bimatoprost Ophthalmic also increases the amount of fluid in the eye and is officially used to treat glaucoma. For glaucoma treatment, the medication needs to be dropped into the eye, as opposed to the eyelid only when used for eyelash treatment.

Careprost Dosage

Put one drop of Careprost (Bimatoprost Ophthalmic) on a liquid eyeliner cartridge. Draw a line along the upper eyelid, and remove the excess liquid. Repeat this procedure with the other eye. Do not apply Careprost (Bimatoprost Ophthalmic) to the bottom eyelid.

Apply Careprost (Bimatoprost Ophthalmic) once a day. Results would normally be seen after two months of use, although it usually takes three to four months to achieve the desired result.

Once the desired length or density is achieved, apply Careprost once a week to maintain achieved length. If you stop using Careprost completely (Bimatoprost Ophthalmic) your eyelashes will revert to their previous state.

Careprost Side Effects

Side effects of Careprost (Bimatoprost Ophthalmic) may include;

  • Dry eyes
  • Vision disturbances
  • Burning feeling in the eye
  • Unfamiliar sensation
  • Darkened eyelashes
  • Irritating feeling
  • Conjunctival edema
  • Conjunctivitis
  • Discharge from the eye
  • Pigmentation in the iris.

Inform your physician of any extremely uncomfortable side effects of using this medication.

Careprost Precautions

Studies have shown that Careprost (Bimatoprost Ophthalmic) can gradually change the color of treated eyes to brown by increasing melanosomes in melanocytes, and it is thought that these change may be permanent. Long-term effects on melanocytes such as potential damage of pigment granules and deposit of pigment are still unknown. Eye color change may take two years to become noticeable.

As a result of the risk of Careprost changing the eye colour of treated eyes, it is important you use Careprost on both eyes so changes if any occur in both eyes.
