About Nodict:

Nodict (Naltrexone Hydrochloride) is a proven medical prescription that is used to help patients suffering from dependence on alcohol and narcotics recover. This drug, however, does not cure addiction but blocks all the highs brought about by it. Due to its active ingredient, the drug is not suitable for persons dependent on narcotics or alcohol. The active ingredient in Nodict has its withdrawal symptoms that make it work perfectly for patients who have ceased on alcohol and narcotics use.

How to use Nodict

Nodict (Naltrexone Hydrochloride) is an opoid antagonist and binds itself to the brain receptors just like how opiods such as morphine and diamorphine do. It is a competitive receptor meaning that it binds itself and prevents other opoids from binding to their receptors and in the process blocks their actions. Dependency and addiction in the human brain are mostly associated with neurotransmitter dopamine which is the ‘feel-good’ chemical in the body. This chemical is released by activation of reward circuits found in the brain. The human brain then associates the substance that triggers the ‘feel good’ feeling and euphoria, and this leads to active dependency and addiction.

Nodict Dosage

Nodict should be taken as prescribed by a physician. It normally forms a part of a program for management of alcohol dependence mostly because it can be taken with other drugs. It comes in 50mg tablets and depending on severity as well as a patient’s physical and health conditions, prescription differs. For a normal adult, a daily intake of one tablet swallowed orally with water is taken for up to 12 weeks is the normal prescription. For a starter with no withdrawal symptoms, a dosage of 25mg is preferred by most physicians though this can be adjusted depending on the evaluation by the physician. During the treatment program, there will be regularly-scheduled appointments by your physician to monitor your progress. Within a month of treatment, there should be evidence of reduced alcohol consumption in a patient.

Nodict Side Effects

There are some common side effects which a patient would expect to experience during treatment with Nodict. This include:

  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pains
  • Pain in bone or joints
  • Insomnia
  • Fatigue
  • Skin rashes

If any of these side effects is prolonged, a patient should seek immediate medical attention. Other side adverse effects that should prompt for medical attention include vision problems, loss of appetite, decreased sexual performance or development of an irregular heartbeat.

Nodict Precautions

Any early sign of allergic reactions should be immediately reported to a physician. Due to the drowsiness that comes as a result of using Nodict, patients under medication are discouraged from driving or operating any machinery. This drug is not recommended for all patients suffering from alcohol and narcotics dependency. Before starting on medication, it is advised always to consult your health care provider. Also, open up to your physician if pregnant or breastfeeding, using other prescriptions or non-prescriptions including herbal products, are trying to conceive, are on supplements or if you suffer from allergies or any other health related problems.
