About Mesacol: Mesacol (Mesalamine) is a medicine used to treat symptoms of ulcerative colitis, inflammation of both the small and large intestines as well as other body swelling conditions. The medicine is also commonly prescribed to patients suffering from Crohns disease. The medicine is categorized as an anti-inflammatory because its main ingredient is aminosalicylate which is effective in the body through controlling or stopping processes in the human body that lead to the production of natural chemicals that cause tissue damages, swelling, diarrhea and inflammations.
How to use Mesacol
Swallow Mesacol (Mesalamine) tablets as a whole and take a full glass of water. Remember that only your doctor should prescribe these tablets for you and self-medication is greatly prohibited. If the doctor is not specific about this; you can then take your medicine however way you prefer either with or without food. The frequency of taking this medicine will be determined by your dosage but in most cases, improvements are not noticeable until after a patient has used the medicine for more than three weeks. Do not use this medicine in any other way other than how your doctor has prescribed it.

Before prescribing for you a dosage, your doctor will perform tests to you to determine the severity of your condition.
