About Lupride Depot: Lupride Injection (Leuprolide Acetate) - 3.75mg (2mL) is a medicine that is indicated for the treatment of metastatic and advanced prostate cancer. It may also be used for treatment of other conditions including endometriosis (a condition in female patients where the endometrium lining found in the uterus overgrows and this leads to painful and irregular periods), anemia, uterine fibroids and precocious puberty (this is a condition that results in children entering puberty too soon leading to complications such as fast bone growth and development of sexual characteristics). This medicine is also used in some cases as a treatment for infertility, before an intra-uterine surgery and for breast cancer.
How to use Lupride Depot
In most cases, your physician will administer Lupride Injection (Leuprolide Acetate) - 3.75mg (2mL) as an injection. The medicine is not ideal for long term use (longest prescription should last for six months) and should be administered not more than once in a month or how the doctor recommends. Before injection of each dosage, the powder should always be checked properly to confirm that it is still within its date of use. The syringe should also be well inspected and should never be used if there is any evidence of clumping or caking. After each injection, activate the safety device as soon as you withdraw the needle, you will hear a click sound.
Lupride Depot Dosage
Your doctor will prescribe for you the correct amount of dosage for your condition. Normally, this medicine is administered once in a month for up to 6 months. If the symptoms persist, a new similar dosage may be prescribed by your doctor. The medicine should not be used continuously for more than six months as this would lead to the development of undesirable side effects.
Lupride Depot Side Effects
Treatment of different conditions using Lupride Injection (Leuprolide Acetate) - 3.75mg (2mL) may lead to the development of side effects. Some of the most commonly experienced side effects by patients include vaginal discharges, abnormal nervousness, mood changes, decreased libido, abnormal weight loss or gain, pain in the muscle or joints, dryness, redness of the area that was injected, abnormal menstrual cycles, symptoms of flu and hot flashes. Lupride Depot Precautions
Although some people use this medicine as a contraceptive, this functionality is not insured as it only stops menstruation by inhibiting ovulation. However, patients taking this medicine are not encouraged to use non-hormonal contraceptive options. This medicine may not be suitable for use for;

Pregnant women, those trying to conceive or nursing mothers
During your treatment, avoid participation in strenuous activities or those that may require a high level of concentration. Give yourself time to check on the effects of the medicine to your body as it is known to cause dizziness and general fatigue or weakness.
Stop using the medicine immediately are report to the ER as soon as you notice any signs of allergic reactions. Some common symptoms of allergic reactions include chest tightness, swelling due to fluid retention, difficulty in breathing or swallowing, skin rashes and hives.
