How to use Exemptia


Exemptia (Adalimumab Injection) is indicated for the treatment of the following conditions:

  1. Rheumatoid Arthritis: To reduce signs and symptoms, inhibit joint damage, and improve physical function in adults with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis.
  2. Psoriatic Arthritis: To reduce symptoms and inhibit the progression of joint damage in patients with active psoriatic arthritis.
  3. Ankylosing Spondylitis: To manage symptoms in adults with active ankylosing spondylitis.
  4. Crohn’s Disease: For the treatment of moderate to severe Crohn’s disease in adults and children who have not responded well to other therapies.

Exemptia Dosage


Product Dosage and Administration:

Dosage:
Exemptia is available as a prefilled syringe containing 40 mg/0.8 ml of Adalimumab. The dosage depends on the specific condition being treated, the patient`s age, and their weight.

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, and Ankylosing Spondylitis:

    • Adults: 40 mg subcutaneously every other week.
    • Some patients not on methotrexate may benefit from 40 mg every week.
  • Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis:

    • Initial dose: 160 mg on Day 1 (as 4 injections of 40 mg in one day or 2 injections per day for 2 consecutive days).
    • Follow-up dose: 80 mg at Week 2, then 40 mg every other week starting at Week 4.
  • Plaque Psoriasis:

    • Initial dose: 80 mg on Day 1, followed by 40 mg every other week starting one week later.
  • Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (2 years and older):

    • Weight <30 kg: 20 mg every other week.
    • Weight ≥30 kg: 40 mg every other week.
