About Crotorax: Crotorax Cream (Crotamiton) defines a topical medicine prescribed to patients suffering from a range of skin conditions. It is mostly used in the treatment of chicken pox, sunburns, insect bites and scabies. This medicine is categorized as a scabicide and antipruritic, and its main mode of action is through reduction of itchiness and skin irritation. It is possible for your doctor to prescribe this medicine for treatment of a different condition other than those listed here.
How to use Crotorax
Crotorax Cream (Crotamiton) is strictly for external application and no instance should it be ingested. The cream comes with an instructional leaflet that will direct you on usage. Your physician will also guide you on how to correctly use the cream during your treatment and in the case of any concern, always consult your physician. Apply the cream only to the affected area and this should never be near the face. Wash your hands and the affected area properly and leave it to dry naturally before each application. Take the amount of Crotorax Cream (Crotamiton) specified by your physician and gently massage it on the affected area to form a thin layer of the cream. Leave it to dry for as long as your physician specified then wash off the cream and your hands to prevent the spread of the cream to other unaffected areas. If you are treating scabies, apply for the medicine to the whole of your body other than your face and head.
Crotorax Dosage
Your physician will prescribe to you a dosage depending on the severity of your symptom. Your medical history, present health conditions and other medicine you currently are using (this includes prescriptions, non-prescriptions, herbal medicines or supplements) will also determine the dosage to be prescribed to you. A typical prescription for adults suffering from mild skin conditions is a 2 or 3 times a day application of the cream continuously for up to 5 days. Application time should be short before sleeping, early in the morning or even during the day.
Crotorax Side Effects
It is advised that you report the occurrence of all side effects to your doctor as soon as you notice them. Some of the most commonly reported side effects include tingling and burning sensations in the area of application, itchiness in the area under treatment, and increased skin sensitivity. There are other severe side effects though these are not commonly experienced as the cream has been well tolerated. The use of this cream may cause allergic reactions.
