About Adaclene Gel: Adaclene Gel (Adapalene) is a medicine prescribed to patients suffering from acne vulgaris. This drug has been found effective in skin exfoliation and reduction of the formation of spots. The active ingredient in this medicinal gel is vitamin A, which acts during treatment as a comedolytic agent. When applied, the medicine works on the cells of the outer skin (keratinocytes), and this process inhibits differentiated growth or the occurrence of abnormal spots. This in turn opens up skin pores as the clogs are unblocked through skin proliferation and consequently reducing the amount of sebum accumulating on the skin.

How to use Adaclene Gel

Adaclene Gel (Adapalene) is for external use only and should not be ingested. Your doctor will decide on how frequent you will need to apply the gel. Your physician will take you through on how to apply the gel and in case you have any queries, you can confirm from them or by reading the instructions leaflet provided by the gel. Wash your hands and the affected area thoroughly before application and leave them to dry naturally. Take necessary precautions to ensure that the gel does not get to the eyes, mouth or nose. Apply a small amount as instructed and massage a thin film to the affected area as many times as indicated.

Adaclene Gel Dosage

Your doctor will prescribe to you a dosage unique to you. This dosage is arrived at by factoring the severity of your condition, your health condition, and medical history as well as other medicine that you may presently be using (prescriptions, non-prescriptions, herbal or supplements). For adult patients suffering from acne related conditions, the typical prescription is one application a day. Ideally, this should be before bedtime at night.

Adaclene Gel Side Effects

It is possible for patients to experience the occurrence of side effects during treatment using Adaclene Gel (Adapalene). Some common side effects include skin redness, tingling feeling, skin dryness, burning sensations and pruritis. There are other severe side effects that are possible to experience and may not be listed here. Consult your doctor for more information on this. Do not stop using your medicine unless your doctor has instructed you to. It is possible for your physician to lower your dosage to curb the occurrence of certain side effects and it is important to ensure that you follow all recommendations by your doctor.

Adaclene Gel Precautions

During your treatment using Adaclene Gel (Adapalene), your skin will be more sensitive to the sun. It is important therefore to avoid exposure to the sun and tanning beds and if you have to be outside, apply a sunscreen. Also, use protective clothing such as long sleeves, sunglasses or a cap. Do not apply this gel where your skin is broken or are suffering from eczema which would irritate you. If you have other disorders which would affect how the medicine works, you may need to let them heal first before you commence with your treatment. This medicine may not be suitable for use on all types of patients. If you suffer from conditions caused by dysfunction of kidney, liver, heart failures or hereditary disorders, are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding, discuss with your doctor about the risks before starting on your treatment.
